2023 HMAS PARRAMATTA II MEMORIAL SERVICE

Date: 26th November 2023, 11:00am
Memorial service was held at the HMAS Parramatta II memorial in Parramatta.

One of the lesser known tragedies of WWII is the sinking of the Grimsby class sloop HMAS Parramatta in the early hours of the 27th November 1941 while escorting a convoy, hit by a torpedo fired from the German submarine U559. The service honours the sacrifice and pay respects to the men lost when Parramatta was sunk.
