One of the lesser known tragedies of WWII is the sinking of the Grimsby class sloop HMAS Parramatta in the early hours of the 27th November 1941 while escorting a convoy, hit by a torpedo fired from the German submarine U559. The service honours the sacrifice and pay respects to the men lost when Parramatta was sunk.
